A short film of some of James Bridle's most significant themes on The New Aesthetic. The film draws a picture of the reality of our codependent relationship with technology and contrasts how we're still different at heart. Some important themes explore were the drone Eye Of God, The Cloud, Meta-physicality, Lost in translation, unlike perception, and glitching.

Digital Craftmanship (TROUSERS)
Inspired by James Bridle's New Aesthetic theory blending technology and art, I created trousers as a form of rebellion against ubiquitous surveillance. Drawing on pixelation concepts, I translated it into a three-dimensional form using origami principles on textiles. The garment features adversarial imagery, disrupting machine learning algorithms. The trousers, resembling wearable cryptography, aim to defy surveillance by rendering the wearer inscrutable to prying machines. This fashion project signifies resistance against constant surveillance, emphasizing autonomy, privacy, and individuality in an increasingly digitized world. The pixelated trousers stand as a visual declaration against machines that observe without truly understanding human essence.

Thaki is a futuristic vision that works to incorporate and bring back the abandoned and overshadowed customary Emarati traditions through technological reforms, such as telepresence and Holograms. Our structure works to play your senses while having you go through an interactive experience through playing Carrom in a way we never thought we’d be able to play it.
